Sintra

Municipality

Sintra is a city and municipality in the Greater Lisbon region of Portugal. It is famous for its numerous historic glittering palaces, sumptuous castles and its picturesque village which lead to the classification of the town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. The Pena National Palace, a glorious colourful beauty located among the hills of Sintra, was considered in 2015 (by EBD) as the Most Beautiful Castle in Europe. It is not suprising that Sintra is a major tourist destination in Portugal, attracting every year millions and millions of visitors.
